KUALA LUMPUR 3.

Kuala Lumpur (KL) by night.... :P
From Sabah the 3rd biggest island in the world we went back to Kuala Lumpur... Before leaving to Indonesia Helen was meeting Keeran and Gimmi two of the travellers she had met in Thailand few months ago... Because we had a good guidance by Kiki this time we experienced KL differently. During the weekend Kiki took us on one day trip around KL. First we visited Batu caves with hindu tempel... For a day we became Indian girls :)

Before going to jungle walk we had very strong breakfast - huge 'indian' pancakes with nice souce.

One hour of the real jungle NON PATHS walk got us to the waterfall where we refreshed ourselves... On the way I met some of my bloody friends... they all love my blood... I got 7 leeched bites... The picture looks bed.... but no worries i got used of donating my blood all the time to my bloody friends (leeches, mosquitos, bed bugs...).

Although Malaysia has lots of remains and influence of England At the back is a French village.... the entrance was a bit expensive so we saw it only from far behind from the nice view point.

At the end of the day... clubing in KL was on the list...

IZ JUNGLE V MORJE SNORKLAT!!!

Iz hribov in mraza v dolino k morju na toplo nazaj v kratke :) Me like it!!!...

So clovekov najblizji sorodnik. No, ne vem kdo je bil vecja opica tukaj. Mi k smo se kuhali na vrocini al oni k so uzivali v svezih bananah in mleku :)

From mountains and low temepratures to the sea putting shorts on again :) me like it.... Sandakan - very authentic and non touristy town that is connecting to other destinations on the east coast of Sabah. The first evening Molly (lady that was managing the guesthouse we were staying in) invited us for a party. Party?!?!? Was more like karaoke show... All private parties in SE Asia more or less end up with karaoke.

Next day we visited Sepilok Orangutan rehabilitation centre/Orangutan senctuary where young orphaned or captive orangutans are taught survival skills so that they may return to their natural habitat ... From the viewing platform we were able to see them coming from the forest on the feeding platform where we could observe them. Did you know that orangutans share 96% of the same genes as humans. They are man's closest living relative. I am wondering who was the monkey here... us standing on that heat or them munching fresh bananas and milk :)

Naslednji vecer piknik pri Mollyjevih prijateljeljih... Zelo velikodusno, kar ni nas izpustila iz rok... polna miza skampov, piscet, solate, riza,... Vsec mi je bil ta Malezijski piknik. Ali ste vedeli da Malezijski muslimani vecinoma nimajo psov, ker so psi umazani in lizejo roke in njihova vera tega ne dovoljuje... hm???
In the evening we had great time having a BBQ in Molly's friend's house... Very generous... table full of prawns, chickens, salad... I liked Sabah BBQ. Did you know that muslim in Sabah do not have dogs at home, cos dogs lick your arms and than you have dirty hands and their religion does not allow this....?!?!?

On the longest river on Borneo Kinabantangan we went on river cruise every morning and afternoon, and on jungle walk (also in the night)... Here we could observe lots of animals leaving in this area... Proboscus monkey (the one with long nose) is emblem and rare in Sabah... but we were deep enough in the joungle to meet them... Also we could see a group of 25 elephants by the river... playing, drinking water, eating... and we were just 50m away observing them from the boat.

:O O Budha.... Se sem ziva...

Night walk was nothing special... but... Although we were warned to be careful I got executed by electricity wire which is unabling elephants to enter into the resort area. Well... this happenes if you need to avoid the padle and forget that the wire is just next to you and sudenly you feel sth on your shoulder and you jump a meter away and scream to the stars... Helen didnt see me, just heard me but still knew it was me and she was laughing like hell.... how you knew it was me?!?!?! Just for info... the guide told me that this wires have up to 5000V... :0 O budha... I am still alive.

Next mision was to snorkel and dive on Sipadan island... rated as the top dive destination of the world. So we continued the way towards south to Semporna town and from there to Mabul Island which is about 20 minutes away by speedboat. Mabul island is one of the closest islands to Sipadan island. Although the are 5 fancy resorts offering world class service on Mabul island, we stayed in a homestay house... and that was the best experience... living with locals - living their life in the house that was build up in the sea (picture on the left)... We were watching local kids swimming and playing with everything that comes over... even with chicken... Around the island there were many places where we could snorkel and see very rich marine life.

One day was day for snorkeling and diving in Sipadan island... here i could swim with biiiiiiiiiig fishes (also sharks) and loooooots of turtles.... This is the place with the richest marine life i have seen until now.
Nobenga kokosa...
Tanja was copying the locals and climbed the coconut palm tree... no coconuts...

Before leaving one incomon picture with all the others divers staying in this homestay....

MT KINABALU SABAH/BORNEO

From Malaysian peninsula we flew on Borneo-Sabah, where our first mission was to climb the highest mountain in SE Asia: Mt Kinabalu (4.095m - never been this high before).
First preparations.... buying warm staff: hat, 3 pair of gloves, rain coat and hikking shoes.... which fell appart right the next day (the day before climbing the mountain), tounge fell off.... This can happen only to Twonka... so no other choise than to sew the tounge back on the shoe...

Not only shoe fell apart also the zip of the small bag broke right the minute before leaving the room in the morning... so in a hurry needed to change the bag and take the big backpack with me on the mountain....

Finaly prepared to climb first 6km... to the station where we stayed overnight. Walking through idyllic forest we met few locals that were carrying loads of food and staff needed at the station. The lady on a pic was loaded with 35 kg..... o Buda.... At the station we could enjoy marvelous sunset above the clouds.

Ceprav smo zmorzovali ko cucki (skoraj postali pingvini), smo vseeno uzivali v precudovitem razgledu in soncnem vzhodu.
Next day morning at 2am we dressed all the clothes that we had (cos at the top was around 0 degrees)... i felt like in Slovenia after a long time :) We finished the last 2km to the summit which was killing cos of the thinner air. While trying not to become penguin we could enjoy fantastic view over the ireland and even more fantastic sunrise.

Almost at the top there was a public phone... of course I needed to call my mum... that I survived... ;)
